LeGoo™
Winner of the 2008 EACTS Techno-College Award for Best
Breakthrough in the field of Thoracic and Cardiovascular
Surgery
For years surgeons have been looking
for a simpler, atraumatic method to control bleeding
during vascular surgery. Ideally, this method would also
prevent back-bleeding from side branches and collaterals
— and not require removal before completion of the
anastomosis.
LeGoo™ is a water-soluble,
low-viscosity gel. It forms a gel plug at body
temperature and conforms to any vascular geometry.
It temporarily stents the vessel to
facilitate constructing the anastomosis and allows for
suturing directly through the gel.
LeGoo™ does not need to be removed
before completing the anastomosis. Upon completion, it
is dissolved by applying ice directly to the vessel.
LeGoo’s ability to revert to a liquid
state is a function of both temperature and
concentration.
Therefore, the diluted material will
not re-gel once it is dissolved: it passes through the
microcirculation and is excreted in urine.
Fleetwood Healthcare Ltd. is delighted to be appointed
the distributor in Ireland for this unique product.

VNUS®
Closure: A minimally invasive treatment for the pain and swelling caused by varicose veins
VNUS® Closure® is a clinically proven, minimally invasive procedure that treats varicose veins and their underlying cause, venous reflux, with little or no pain. Closure patients can walk away from the vein procedure and be back to everyday activities – either at home or at work – typically within a day.
VNUS® Medical Technologies is a world leader in the development and commercialization of products for minimally invasive treatment of venous disease. The company currently markets the proprietary Closure System of products for patients who suffer from symptoms associated with venous reflux. The Closure system was first used in Europe beginning in 1998 and cleared for marketing in the U.S. in March 1999. Since then, over 250,000 patients worldwide have received the Closure procedure and numerous studies have shown the Closure procedure can provide substantial benefits to eligible patients with venous disease.
Fleetwood Healthcare Ltd. launched the VNUS ClosureFast system in Ireland in 2007.
Spot is the first and only non India ink based FDA approved product for marking or “tattooing” the GI tract. Each syringe contains 5cc of a sterile, biocompatible, non-pyrogenic suspension containing highly purified carbon particles.
The particles remain in the submucosal injection site creating a permanent mark that remains visible on the mucosal and serosal surfaces of the colon.
India ink preparations contain shellac, phenol, and ammonia that, even in dilute solutions, would preferably be avoided. Spot's special formulation does not contain India ink and clinical studies show Spot to be a safe, effective, and convenient method for marking GI lesions.
